With an Fev1 of 66%, I am constantly being told that I should not have so much sob. Well, I asked my pulmo at the last visit and this may prove interesting to many of you. The Fev1 represents the large airways while the Fef25-75% represents the smaller airways and my numbers there were below average (actually poor) which causes me to feel sob. It isn't a problem getting the air in, it is a problem getting it out, which perhaps is more a function of the smaller airways; PLB helps.

Your FEV1 can be normal or not but if your FEF 25-75 is lower then you have a Reactive Airway Disease. Sometimes they call it small airways disease.
