Warning long post :)
Hi all my name is Julie but on health board I'm smiler. Me well i'm an oddbod when it comes to what is wrong with my lung when i was 13 i was told bad hayfever mild asthma treatment at that time nasal spay and reliver tablets for 1 month. Then just on nasal spray. At 19 i moved around from family home to live in college hall. Started getting the night cough sob and whezzy in the small hours. And problems walking up the long drive to my new home. So when my new GP card came i when down and was told asthma and given a reliver inhaler. Then told to come back in 1 month in between i last my nan so had to move back for a short time with my mum. Then when i returned i went back coz worse. So started with steroid inhalers. In the past i have been on differnt steroid inhalers, longacting relver inhaler, accolate tabs, different anti allergy tabs, short course of steroids, ventolin nebs, arto nebs. Then two years ago local hospital refered me to Brompton London Who took me of all meds apart from ventolin. Then it was play the game of would i have nebs or inhaler removed from repeat med list I was given a bone scan that showed mild brittle bones and spirva which did not help. I was told it was not asthma but they could not saw what it was. I had a CF sweat test done which came back normal. And then told it was bronchorrea which just means watering lungs. But type it in a search engine and it comes up about a type of lung cancer. So i got on the phone to the asthma nurse and said have i got cancer. Who reasured me no u do not. I had very bad pains in my legs and end up needing physio to walk properly from being taken on the steriod inhaler. Then i goto tryed on atrope mixed with syline used though a neb 4x aday to help thin the mucus. Then I asked if i could try cromogen inh as my GP had put my on rynocrom for siuis probs. this helpped then in the witer i started getting worse so another GP started working with mine and started me back on becotide. I had by this time been taken of atrope and was now on short course of artovent nebs and inh.
Treatment at presant Becotide cromogen Atrovent nebs ventolin inh and when bad neb anti allergy tabs steroid spray rynocrom aminopyhalline(sp?) I have been learning butyko breathinhg though local hospital and gone from need ventolin neb most day too only when needed atro is now most day just once a day and aminophylline is now just once a day. I am having probs but do chest physio every day and try to do butyko at lest 2x aday.  I'm off to Addenbrookes in cambrige in a few weeks so hopefully they can help.
