Do you have a poem to share with the group? Maybe one you wrote personally, or just one you enjoy reading and sharing. We would love to see what you have. Thank you very much and God bless.

October's Party George Cooper
October gave a party; The leaves by hundreds came- The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples, And leaves of every name. The Sunshine spread a carpet, And everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band.
The Chestnuts came in yellow, The Oaks in crimson dressed; The lovely Misses Maple In scarlet looked their best; All balanced to their partners, And gaily fluttered by; The sight was like a rainbow New fallen from the sky.
Then, in the rustic hollow, At hide-and-seek they played, The party closed at sundown, And everybody stayed. Professor Wind played louder; They flew along the ground; And then the party ended In jolly "hands around."

This is a poem the lady who lost her dog wrote about him!
SuMarie Steben
Meriwether: April 27, 2002 - August 29, 2006 Elegant and graceful He was agile and swift His poetry of movement Could be seen as a gift He would interpret commands Such as "Stop", "Wait", and "Stay" As a mere invitation To keep going away "Just try to catch me" Was his favorite game His twists, turns, and dodges Were never the same He thought it was smart To fly through the air I could not catch him . . . But a Suburban was there This is how Meriwether Chose to meet his end Hoosier has lost his Daddy And I have lost a friend

From: Lisa (Original Message) In loving memory of Owen Jones.... Born Sept 24, 1917 - Died November 20, 2001 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY "Happy Birthday Daddy" May it be the best one yet, Though you left me here behind. Did you think that I'd forget? Everything around you, will surely be, A beauty to behold. With the building of the wall of jasper, And the city of purest Gold.
Yes your birthday in Heaven, Will be such a grand affair. And I know you'll look so lovely, With a halo in your hair. May Angels come from everywhere, To sing your birthday song. And I believe you'll be so happy, That you've joined, God's Happy Throng. No I can't send a card this year, Or give a gift so fine. So I'll just send this special wish, To that wonderful Dad of mine.

THINK... of stepping on the Shore, And finding it Heaven; Of taking hold of A Hand And finding it's God's Hand; Of breathing a New Air And finding it Celestial Air; Of feeling invigorated And finding it Immortality; Of passing from storm & tempest To an unknown calm; Of waking & finding you're HOME!

AUTUMN by Christopher Brennan
Autumn: the year breathes dully towards its death, beside its dying sacrificial fire; the dim world's middle-age of vain desire is strangely troubled, waiting for the breath that speaks the winter's welcome malison to fix it in the unremembering sleep: the silent woods brood o'er an anxious deep, and in the faded sorrow of the sun, I see my dreams' dead colours, one by one, forth-conjur'd from their smouldering palaces, fade slowly with the sigh of the passing year. They wander not nor wring their hands nor weep, discrown'd belated dreams! but in the drear and lingering world we sit among the trees and bow our heads as they, with frozen mouth, looking, in ashen reverie, towards the clear sad splendour of the winter of the far south. |

Two Become One Love challengess like thought deepening, Inviting us to witness new beginning's breath. No truth can better penetrate the shell That insulates our heart so well, When two become one until death Staying in one another's keeping.

He Knows Your Name! When you are having problems And feel there's no help around. First take one step forward, To get to higher ground.
If you think that God doesn't hear you Then that, is really a shame Not only does He hear every prayer you say; But He knows you, by your name.
It does not matter just where you are When you call upon the Lord. He will be listening with a well-tuned ear And will understand every word. Be ready to listen to what He says, As He tells you what to do. For that will be your instructions Because the rest will be up to you. You should thank Him for His kindness, Because He was standing by. And not as you thought; He had turned away And would never, hear your cry. Even though you have made so many mistakes. He will not hold you to blame. For now, you are fully forgiven. And remember, He knows your name. ~ Unknown |

PEACE
PEACE will come when people live In friendship, side by side, And cherish understanding More than hatred, greed and pride.
PEACE will come when people see All people as the same, And no one has to live in fear, In ignorance, or in shame.
PEACE will come when people Who are needy can reach out For shelter, food, or love, And no one has to do without.
PEACE will come when people Learn to listen and to care About the rights and dignity Of people everywhere.
PEACE will come when love and trust And kindness know rebirth, And on that day all people Will rejoice in peace on earth.

Life
The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change. The challenge of life is to overcome. The essence of life is to care. The opportunity of life is to serve. The secret of life is to dare. The spice of life is to befriend. The beauty of life is to give. The joy of life is to love. ~William Arthur Ward |

God Is Everywhere Just look upon the sky so blue And feel the gentle breeze Hear the quiet voice of God That calms a stormy sea. Feel His presence in the air As birds begin to sing And see the stars that shine above It's God who made these things. Find it deep within your heart To say a little prayer And only then will you believe That God is everywhere. ~ Jill Lemming ~ |

When life brings untold sadness, Is different than we've known, We wonder just how we'll make it, How we can carry on...
We try to hold our heads up and, Make it through the day. But we are oh so sorrowful!, As we try to make our way...
Sometimes we hurt so much inside, We can't seem to find relief, Especially when alone with our tears, There's nothing but our grief...
Just know that Jesus loves us, He knows about our pain. If we open up our heart to Him He'll help us smile again...
If we turn our eyes upon Jesus, And His promises we claim, When shadows of the evening come. Grief will not remain...
We'll find Him in the morning light!, And feel His presence there. He's there for us with open arms And for us will care...

"Waiting On The Lord"
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried, Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied. I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate, And the Master so gently said, “Child, you must wait.?BR> “Wait? You say, wait! ?my indignant reply. “Lord, I need answers, I need to know why! Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard? By Faith, I have asked, and am claiming your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate Hangs in the balance, and YOU tell me to WAIT? I’m needing a ‘yes? a go-ahead sign, Or even a ‘no?to which I can resign.
And Lord, You promised that if we believe We need but to ask, and we shall receive. And Lord, I’ve been asking, and this is my cry: I’m weary of asking! I need a reply!
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate As my Master replied once again, “You must wait.?BR>So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut And grumbled to God, “So, I’m waiting ?for what??BR> He seemed, then, to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine, And he tenderly said, “I could give you a sign. I could shake the heavens, and darken the sun. I could raise the dead, and cause mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be. You would have what you want - But, you wouldn’t know Me. You’d not know the depth of My love for each saint; You’d not know the power that I give to the faint.
You’d not learn to see through the clouds of despair; You’d not learn to trust just by knowing I’m there; You’d not know the joy of resting in Me When darkness and silence were all you could see.
You’d never experience that fullness of love As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove; You’d know that I give and I save?(for a start), But you’d not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night, The faith that I give when you walk without sight, The depth that’s beyond getting just what you asked Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.
You’d never know, should your pain quickly flee, What it means that “My grace is sufficient for Thee.?BR>Yes, your dreams for your loved one overnight would come true, But, Oh, the Loss! If I lost what I’m doing in you!
So, be silent, My Child, and in time you will see That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me. And though oft may My answers seem terribly late, My most precious answer of all is still, “WAIT.?BR> Author unknown |
