1995, THE YEAR I WAS TOLD I HAD STAGE 3 BREAST CANCER. IT HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS AND AT THE TIME I JUST KNEW I WAS GETTING READY TO EXIT THIS PLACE. ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS " WHAT CANCER CAN DO " AND ULTIMATLEY DEATH THE END RESULT.
AS I WAS IN THE ONCOLOGIST OFFICE PREPARING FOR CHEMO A SWEET LADY HANDED THIS POEM TO ME AND I NEVER FORGOT IT.
MAYBE YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS BATTLING THE 'c' WORD AND THEY MAY JUST NEED TO HEAR THIS.

Cancer is so limited--- It cannot cripple love It cannot shatter hope It cannot corrode faith It cannot destroy peace It cannot kill friendship It cannot suppress memories It cannot silence courage It cannot invade the soul It cannot steal eternal life It cannot conquer the spirit. |
