The rewards of faithfulness

by Pastor Simon

His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

Matthew 25:21 - NKJV

In Christian circles you often hear about faithfulness. What is faithfulness? It's the state you are in when you have lots of faith actions going on in your life. As a faithful person you are carrying out actions and the faith you have in those actions carries them forward to produce results! Faith causes you to see what can be and it makes you faithful. In faithfulness you work away with the seeds of the vision. Because of faith you're willing to start out building something big with just the little you have. You water, you dig about and you protect. Faith has made you faithful and faithfulness is bringing dreams into reality. Luk.16:10.

The best kind of local church esteems faithfulness. The church leaders entrust an area of responsibility to a church member. Then, before more is entrusted to him, they wait to see how the member gets on with the initial things entrusted to him. Even the Holy Spirit works that way! He watches how you run with a revelation He gives you from God's Word. He is then delighted to give you more if He finds you take the revelation up fervently in your life. Prov.1:23.

How are you doing with what's entrusted to you? This is a measure of faithfulness. Are you acting in cheerfulness with diligence and initiative? If you are doing that and are willing to continue doing so with endurance then you can expect to see the Lord's reward. God gives joy to the cheerfully faithful person. He also commits more to him. Heb.10:35-36.

God looks for faithfulness
