So many soldiers of the Lord are tired and weary these days. Some have had heart aches and distress - with their minds feeling overwhelmed by the problems at hand. It seems that the prophet Jeremiah felt very discouraged at times. The Word of the Lord came to him one day to stir him up. Jeremiah 12:5 - "If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses?" God showed Jeremiah that the trials that he was presently experiencing were nothing in comparison to those that were ahead of him. If small events were causing him to complain and feel overwhelmed, then how was he going to handle the evils to come - which were far worse?
Many are spiritually exhausted from preaching a Word from God that seemingly falls upon deaf ears. Some are ready to give up. Are you one of those weary soldiers? Stand strong and don't give up the fight. If you can't stand the pressure now, what will you do when Christians are being beheaded for the gospels sake? So many today are running, yet God never sent them. They say "GOD SAID THIS OR THAT" but God didn't say it! They have taken on the responsibility and office of a prophet or spokesman for God - yet He never commissioned them. They run without the TRUE message. How do we know this? Jeremiah 23:22 says - "But if they had stood in My counsel, and had caused My people to hear My words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings." God never sends a preacher to soothe people in their sins. He never sends them to tickle the ears of the hearer. He never gives His servant a Word that offers an excuse to sin or justify sin in their lives. We need to draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to us. By drawing nearer to the Lord, we are empowered against temptations to sin. As we draw closer to Him, we are given Life and Strength to be a soldier for God. When we wait in the Mighty Presence of the Lord, He exchanges our weakness with His Strength. Wisdom is God's instruction to us as found in His Holy Word. READ AND STUDY! At no time in our walk with the Lord can we ever lay aside our Bibles. We must be diligent seekers of HIS Truth and Wisdom. His strength and word can make us strong, and cause us to run without ever stumbling or falling. We can be strong and brave soldiers for Him. Hebrews 12:2 gives us an answer - "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..." From: ApostolicPOWER |
