My wife and I are going to look at an Alaskan Malamute pup this weekend. His name is Thunder. He is at a siberian husky rescue place.

Right on Ima.Being a  animal lover myself iwas just admiring  my girl Queensland Healer who will be 20  years old in July.Be quite honest shes been the best animal ive ever had.Very Loyal,Loving,personality.I feel this may be Tazzys last year though.
I have 2 cats that are right behind her who are brother cats..They will be 19 years old in June.
I think if you are trying to look for a pet  that is great you chose animal rescue..Best wishes to you and your family.

He's gorgeous!  We had a Husky when I was little.  He was fond of neighborhood ducks.

WOW Ima... that's a beautiful dog!!  Imagine the trouble he and Bear will get into!!... and I'm sorry I can't remember your other Shepard's name... are your other dogs doing ok?
 
How did you find Thunder (I know through a Rescue)...were you looking for a Malamute?  How old is Thunder?  Why did he end up at a Rescue?
 
LOL.. I"m always intersted in everybody's pets.  Can't help it.... I read Cincinnati's Craigslist pet section every day.  I wish I could rescue ALL the furries....

Totally awesome Ima!!  He's beautiful!  You would be doing such a totally wonderful thing too...rescuing him!  My gf has a dog like yours.  His name is "Nemo."  He's a beauty!!
 
I'm slowly becoming a real dog lover myself....but sssshhh don't tell my cats.....

Thunder is 9 months old (and potty trained) . I found him through petfinder.com.
 My wife has wanted a Malamute for years. But everytime we were ready for a new dog, a malamute wasn't readily available.
 Shaka is the name of our shepherd. She had a growth removed from her behind last spring and she seems to be doing alright. But she is 13 and is starting to show her age.
 I think Bear and Thunder will get along just fine. Thunder is very well behaved, as is Bear.  We have gotten 3 of our last 4 dogs from humane societies. And we have been very happy with them all.
 We can't wait to get the little guy home. My wife is as excited as a little kid on Christmas eve.
