BBQ'd Beef Strips
2 lbs steak or london broil
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup water
3-4 tbsp brown sugar, to taste
1 tbsp prepared mustard
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
Slice steak into strips about 3-inches long & 1/8-inch wide.
Place oil in a large skillet. Add strips of meat & chopped onions. Brown quickly over high heat, stirring so that all sides of beef brown well. Pour off the fat but 2 tbsp drippings.
Combine remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl. When well mixed, pour over beef strips & onions in the skillet.
Cover & cook slowly for 35-40 minutes or till beef is tender. Stir occasionally.
Serve over hot cooked rice or pasta.
