OATMEAL COOKIE CRISP with PEACHES
Choose a crisp variety of oatmeal cookies for this "new style" version of an old-fashioned dessert.

Yield: 6 servings
Topping Ingredients:
1/3 | | cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1/4 | | cup all-purpose flour |
1/4 | | teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/4 | | cup cold Butter |
6 | | (3/4 cup) purchased crisp oatmeal cookies, broken* |
Filling Ingredients:
4 | | cups sliced fresh peaches or nectarines** |
Ice Cream Ingredients:
Heat oven to 375°F. Combine brown sugar, flour and cinnamon in small bowl; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in cookie pieces.
Place peaches in ungreased 9-inch pie plate; sprinkle topping over fruit. Bake for 16 to 19 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
*Substitute 6 crisp chocolate chip cookies (3/4 cup), broken.
