PICADILLO
(Serves 4)
I N G R E D I E N T S
1 pound Ground Turkey
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 can (14 1/2 ounce) stewed tomatoes
1 cup apple, cored and chopped
1/4 cup raisins
2 tablespoons pimento stuffed olives, thinly sliced
Sliced almonds, toasted (optional)
D I R E C T I O N S
In large non-stick skillet, over medium-high heat, saute turkey, onion, green pepper, and garlic until turkey is no longer pink. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, tomatoes, apples, raisins, and olives. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Serve over rice and top with toasted almonds, if desired.
