Pancakes
Tools needed:
medium bowl small bowl whisk electric pancake skillet or stove-top pancake skillet or pan 1 cup dry measuring cup 1 cup liquid measuring cup 1/4 teaspoon 1 Tablespoon 1 teaspoon measuring spoons
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 Tablespoon sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 beaten egg 1 cup milk 2 Tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions: 1. In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 Tablespoon sugar, and 2 teaspoons baking powder.
2. In a small bowl, combine 1 beaten egg, 1 cup milk and 2 Tablespoons cooking oil. Stir into dry ingredients. Beat with a whisk just until batter is moist but still lumpy.
3. Turn burner to medium heat. Pour 1 teaspoon cooking oil into pan. Test pan temperature. If it is ready, add 1/2 cup batter.
4. Watch for batter bubbles! After a lot of the bubbles pop, flip pancake with a spatula, but don't press it down! This will make pancake tough, not fluffy.
5. After 1 minute, lift edge of pancake. If it's golden brown on bottom, remove it and make another one. Makes 4 to 6 pancakes.
