Peek-a-Boo Meatloaf
This makes just enough for 2 or 3 kids' dinners or to tuck into sandwiches for lunch. Makes 1 Peek-a-Boo Meatloaf -
SUPPLIES: -
large howl, measuring spoons, 6 x 3-inch (15 x 8-cm) -
mini-loaf pan, fork, spoon -
INGREDIENTS: -
1/2 lb (250 g) uncooked ground beef -
1 large egg white -
2 Tbsp (25 mL) bread crumbs -
1 Tbsp (15 mL) ketchup -
1 tsp (5 mL) dried onion flakes -
1/2 tsp (2 mL) garlic salt -
1/4 tsp (1 mL) chili powder -
1/4 tsp (1 mL) dry mustard -
1/4 tsp (1 mL) Worcestershire sauce -
sprinkle of pepper -
1 hot dog wiener -
1 Tbsp (15 mL) chili sauce -
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). -
Put all the ingredients except the wiener and chili sauce into a large bowl. Use your hands to mix the ingredients together well. -
Firmly press about 1/3 of the mixture into the bottom of the mini-loaf pan. Pierce the hot dog 6 times with a fork, Place it in the middle of the loaf. Firmly press the rest of the meat on top, covering the hot dog completely. Use the back of a spoon to spread the chili sauce on top. -
Bake 40 minutes, or until the top of the meatloaf is browned and juices around the edge are bubbling. Cool slightly before eating. |
