Pasta Venesa
2 medium onions, chopped
1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
1 orange bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
10-oz can tomato puree
3 8-oz cans tomato sauce
6-oz can tomato paste
1 pkg sweet italian sausage, chopped
3 links hot italian sausage, chopped
salt to taste
1 1/2 tsp italian seasoning
2 tbsp honey
q cup water
1 cup whipping cream
1 lb uncooked, spaghetti, linguini, or fettuccini
4 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
In a large non stick skillet, saute onions pepper, & garlic till just tender.
Add tomato puree, sauce & paste. Blend well. Simmer covered 1 hour.
Meanwhile, ina separate skillet, brown sausages. Add to tomato mixture.
Season with salt, pepper, & italian seasoning. Then stir in honey & water.
Simmer covered for 30 minutes.
Just before serving, add whipping cream to tomato mixture. Cook until heated through, but do not boil.
Cook pasta according to pkg directions. Drain.
Serve tomato sauce over cooked pasta. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
