Chop Suey
1/4 cup flour 2 tsp. salt 1/2 pound cubed chicken 1/2 pound cubed pork 1/3 cup shortening 1 cup chopped onion 1 cup chopped celery 1 cup beef stock or bouillon 1/2 cup soy sauce 2 Tbls. molasses 1 can bean sprouts (16 oz.) drained Hot cooked rice
Combine flour and salt in large plastic food storage bag; add meat cubes and toss lightly to coat. Brown in hot shortening in Dutch oven; add onion and continue browning. Stir in celery, beef stock, soy sauce and molasses. Cover and cook over low heat for 25 minutes. Add bean sprouts; cook 15 minutes more. Thicken with additional flour, if necessary. Serve over hot rice.
