Apple Dumplings (I renamed them Different Apple Dumplings as they are definitely different from any other I have made or tasted.)
1 Granny Smith Apple ( I tripled) 1 tube Crescent Rolls ( I tripled) 1 cup sugar 1 stick butter (1/4 pound) 7 oz. Sprite soda ( I used one can of Spritz Up which is Store brand tastes like 7-UP) 1 tbsp. Vanilla Cinnamon (Optional) Heat oven to 350ºF Core, peel and cut apple into eight slices (I have an apple slicer corer that does this). Roll each slice in a crescent roll. Place rolls in Pyrex dish. In saucepan mix sugar, butter and Sprite; cook until butter melts. Add vanilla. Pour mixture over rolls. Sprinkle with Cinnamon if desired ( I did a light sprinkle before pouring on the syrup). Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Delicious served warm as is or served with a small scoop of ice cream. Double or triple for more servings.
