DJ and Mike's Place

Soooo, today we drove to the town of Brighton and the 'Box Elder Estates', where there was a house like the one we are looking at, but with the side loaded garage. I'm so glad we did! Even if we'd hated it, we would know BEFORE we built it, but we didn't hate it. Not at all! (Oh, oh. Is that a good thing, given the crashing housing and stock markets? and again . . . Gulp. lol). I took lots of pictures ~ I was waiting for the security people to come after me. LOL.

The Box Elder Estates is an "Estate Community" with each house on at least two acres. This is NOT where Mike and I will be building (if we do). LOL!

While the garage does "stick out", I think it looks fine, don't you?

It will face South, and hopefully the snow won't have to be shoveled as often as our current North Facing garage and walk do. The Front of the house faces West.

The back of the house then obviously faces East and will get the morning sun. Our Master bedroom, "Great Room", Kitchen Nook and the "Sitting Room" will all be on the back side. Soooo, thinking back to the Gothic Romances or Mysteries you have read, where the lady of the manor (Rebecca?) writes her letters in the Morning Room, what about calling that room "The Morning Room". Of course I prob'ly will use it in the afternoon too, but . . . lol.
