OK now the fun has begun!! Dorothy and Mike are awesome and like Dorothy said it's like we just picked up right where we left off. So here is where we went after they picked me up. It's called the "White Fence Inn" and you get ONE guess what their speciality is.......only one now, give up??? OK then read on I'll tell ya. :)
The most delicious fried chicken I think I've had short of my grandma! It was so good. This picture is the "chicken for 3" Needless to say we have leftovers for lunch LOL they feed you well!
With the chicken they serve all kinds of side, but of course what is fried chicken without mashed tatoes and gravy!! Yummo There were also corn fritters Yummo again! and cole slaw and three bean salad and beets and Dorothy fill in whatever I forgot LOL it was all wonderful and the company even better!
Attached to the restaurant are shops and things to see while you wait or just cause it's neat. LOL they had a display of carriages....look closely at the rider in the middle carriage >grinz< they have a sense of humor at this place too!
More carriages
And more :)
We browsed around some of the shops after we ate and came upon live entertainment! They were pretty good too!! I was too busy browsing to take more pics inside LOL But I'll add the outside pics in the next message. Don't we look like we are having fun!!! Well I am anyway :)
Sharon is tied up temporarily, so I'm going to post our the pictures of our second day together. Definitely not in the same league as Sharon's wonderful photo shows ~ just my Eazy Peazy way. Just click on the link below, and start the slideshow when you get into Snapfish. I haven't shared pictures from here before, so let's hope this works ok. I didn't download the "fancy" version.
Everyone who comes here needs to visit Boulder, the town known affectionately by the locals as "The People's Republic of Boulder" or "The Berkley of the Rockys" for it's extreme and often kooky politics. I'm sure Mike and I wouldn't be granted citizenship if we applied there, but it really is one of my favorite places ~~~ to visit. It's of course a college town, and is located at the foot of the Flatiron Mountains.
We drove past "Dorothy's Mountains" (a.k.a. The Flatirons) and then did some shopping on the Pearl Street Mall. You will often find street performers and an eclectic mix of people which makes People Watching a fun activity.
We ended our shopping and looking tour at "my" Mystery Bookstore, High Crimes, and then went on to the Boulder Chop House for dinner. The conversation was so good we forgot to take pictures of our meals ~ sorry 'bout that. We started with onion rings and really good cornbread to make up for Sharon's earlier experience. I had a Gorgonzola Filet, Mike had Filet Oscar, and Sharon had Prime Rib. I think.
