He's the Arizona state president for Qwest. Each state has a president. They worry about promoting product within the state, as well as any political stuff that well help the company out, like deregulation bills. |

The downside to the transition to Verizon: no more one number service. No free calls to your home or other wireless phones on your account. New contract signed with Verizon. Your Qwest phone no longer works on the Verizon (or Sprint) network, you must buy/get a Verizon phone. If you had an original Qwest wireless plan, your phone bill has gone up, negating any contract that you had with Qwest. I would encourage everyone to do a little shopping. AT&T Wireless is the only union provider of cellular service. Sprint does have a $99 unlimited calling/text plan. And you can add an extra line for $25. Sprint will trade Qwest phones for their phones, even trade. Shop around, look for the best deal and coverage for where you live. Sprint's network has worked well for me, regardless of where I've traveled in the US. Remote areas of my state rarely required roaming. Check it all out. Bundling doesn't always bring the best value, even with an employee discount. |

They'll still be there unless we've declared them surplus recently. They're there to re-sell Verizon's wireless, DirecTV, Microsoft along with your landline service and the features you can add to that. You can pay your bill there as well. I don't know if Verizon has kiosks or store fronts in the various malls. Could be interesting. |

AND if you tell them you work for Qwest you get like 12% off your bill. Just take your badge with you to the store. |

pnb with Verizon it's free call other Verizon users. Qwest employees get a 19% discount on Verizon plans. I have been getting this discount for about 4 years. |

I'm just shopping around to get the best price break I can for the type of services I and my family need and use. My current Qwest plan that I've had for over 10 years went up in price by $40 a month. If I change to Verizon my monthly bill will increase again, even with the employee discount and I will lose the one number service. My kids use their phones as electronic tethers. So calling home is a big deal for them and me. Again, it's personal preference and costs. Verizon doesn't match either for our house. |
