Highwoodwacker, I thought that you were so happy that the contract got voted in so you and your job would be safe.  What Happened?   All of you voted yes and lost your job anyway??  Bummer.   Told you so.........

Regardless of how folks voted on the contract, anyone leaving the company involuntarily is a sad, bad thing.  It doesn't effect just them, it also effects their family.  No matter how much we may want to tell someone 'we told you so', it's not the right thing to do.  We'll never know what things influenced their decision as folks marked their ballots.

It's Thanksgiving, be thankful for what we've accomplished, what we've been given, for those we have to share it with.

I have heard of some who are leaving involuntarily.  Sad days ahead for them and their families...... no swaps available.

Sorry about the deleted post, miss-spellings.

D-M, does this stand for Des Moines? There are 3 positions posted in HR for net techs in Des Moines. That could be a reason no one over there has heard anything. More want to leave than the company needed. They will post a position, if it gets filled, then you can go? I don't know, just a guess. I have been trying to get moved, am not affected by the surplus, Have inquired about filling in an EVSPP slot, and getting no response. Its pretty frustrating knowing there are positions out there, slots to fill, and people who want to leave, or get moved, aren't being allowed to, or the company won't back fill a slot.

I think it's important to note that if affected employees don't put down certain areas on their EVSPP election form, the company isn't going to offer them a position. So, if there are 3 Net Techs in Des Moines want to retire, somebody in Oregon who is facing being let go may not want to go to Des Moines to fill that position. The company has to have a body to backfill the person they let retire under EVSPP.
