Welcome to the new regime.

You have a couple of options the way I see it.

1. Quit/Retire if you are able

2. Put up with it, and continue to collect your paycheck, while doing your job safely and within your 54 minute time frame.

There was an old saying years ago:
"Lump it or Leave it"

Aren't Sundays supposed to rotate.....seems to me everyone is supposed to get an even amount of sundays...like every 6th or 8th Sunday...I can't remember.

Because Sundays are premium days, those who want them should get them in order of their seniority.  If your organization says that you have to take the Saturday with the Sunday, then that's the package deal.  Seniority would be the deciding factor.  Now, if no one volunteers for all the weekends, then the available weekends are to be assigned on a rotating basis to all members of the crew.  There will never be an equal number of weekends for all members because of vacation and pdp's, unless you have a heartless force mgr that disregards the fact that you took a Friday or Monday to have that long weekend.    If folks are allowed to volunteer for those Sunday shifts and their associated Saturdays (if need be), things find a way of working out well for the vast majority of folks.

phoenixphnman,
You are incorrect. If you are forced in on OTM on your A day, the company is required to give you 2 days off in a row twice a month for the calender month. So, they can schedule you all the weekends they want, is it fair, probably not, but the weekend scheduling has nothing to do with them giving you 2 days off.

So what if they cancel your A day on the last day of the month and that results in a six day work week and you haven't had two consecutive a days yet for that month? How are you supposed to go back and fix it?

Also make note, that it says you will have two five day work weeks. some people dont understand that if they have a weekend off, then work mon-fri, and are forced in on sat, that is a 6 day work week. So, that weekend you had off doesnt count in the two you are required, unless of course the week before it you only worked five days. You HAVE to have 2days off, 5 days worked..... Twice in a calendar month, not a scheduled month. And yes, you must be forced in on one of your days off for this to be applicable.

HOUSTON--WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!

It boggles the mind to think a Company would want all it's employees filled with contempt and resentment while trying to greet the public and resolve intricate problems.  We will reach "critical mass" shortly and it will surely be fatal for the whole organization!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

beware of volunteering for a sunday,i volunteered for every sunday because due to the increased commitments made for sunday they mgmt started sched more frequent sundays ruining just abt every weekend-you either worked sat or sun,or both, maybe every 5 weeks you got a weekend off.the only thing i asked was that i have the same day off every week, tuesday was the least busy day so i got it.would you believe that at my arbitration, the qwest attorney said that they accommadated MY schedule-not theirs by my working sundays? after all,I got every tuesday off...... and mary taylor said nothing........

You know what is even better kids... Try a 7-7 split on sat 12-20 and a 9-9 split on Sunday 12-21.. wait isn't that the weekend right before Christmas...

Why should I complain, afer all I was not forced into Christmas again this year...       It is at this time of year when I resent Qwest the most.
