Next weekend, we will be starting the process to migrate this board, hereafter referred to as "the old board", to the new board, hereafter referred to as the "new board", at it's new location at Multiply. Multiply was chosen as it appears to be the easiest way to import all the topics, pictures, links etc. we have created over the last 7 YEARS!!!
The process works like this: We, the administrators of the old board, set up the new board following Multiply's system for migrating msn groups. They, Multiply, then notify all the members of the old board, via EMAIL and invite them to join the new board. I believe you then accept the invitation and create a NEW USERNAME. Sounds relatively simple...
I would highly encourage you all, prior to next weekend, to set up a covert email address, created under a fake name, at 1 of the many web portals that offer them, like yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc, then RE-APPLY for membership at the old board, DSCNNTCD'SQWestEMPLOYEEBOARD. You will then get an invitation to join the new board at Multiply at the new email you have just created, This process will allow you join the new board under an UNTRACEABLE alias, which will allow you to freely speak your mind at the new board. I will send a reminder out later this week.
I sincerely wish for the best for everyone, and hope you will all join us at the new board. It looks like it offers more options for posting, pictures, videos etc., and I think we can build a nice community together, working towards a common goal, and maybe help some people along the way...
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them in this thread, email me privately, and we'll make sure you get an answer.. Now, start thinking up those new usernames!!!
P.S. my new username at the new board is gonna be PINACHIO< prisoner# 65784930... hahaha just kidding...

can you hide your email addy on multiply like you can here?

and i agree 100% - we live in a country where freedom of speech is a guaranteed right. let employees discuss things publicly. we do not live in a 3rd world country - why should we work for a company that thinks we do.

Not sure if you can hide your email address at Multiply, i would guess so..---wouldnt matter if you could because if they got a court order for multiply to release the user information, they could find you. Thats why I reccomend setting up the covert account- so it cant be traced back to you... I remember a while back Qwest refused to divulge info about their customers, but I know they dam sure would try to make some one else tell about there customers... The recent incidents in New Mexico reveal the fact that Qwest still thinks it is untouchable and can do what it wants... the ol' Pinachio mentality... Time will tell...

just a quick note!

NO..... there really is no anonymous blogging at a blog....

Why?

because your portal is always logged and it revels who you are.

If the company goes to a judge and proves, using your blog comments, that you defamed or caused injury to them then the judge can and will request that the portal of the offending blog writer be given up and then if you were writing from your house the judge and the lawyers will know who wrote that comment.

i've seen it done and it is not that hard.....

so watch your comments OR write your comments so that we can read between your lines.....

remember, every entry is tied to a portal..... so... if you are willing to go to an internet cafe in lets say... mexico.... and make sure that they have no cameras recording you then maybe you can get away with saying some stuff..... but that is a tough thing to do.....

or i guess you could cruz the city you live in and log into an open wireless lan.... you might also get away with it.... but then they still know what city you are in..... also you better of not used your login from you house at any time......

maintaining anonymity on the web is a lot tougher than you think.

Yes, I kind of wondered about the "anonymous" e-mail account as I thought that you couldn't really do that and be totally untraceable.

So, I agree we should do as some of the classic writers did when they couldn't speak the truth and wrote in ironical or mythological prose....

Some good points hahaha... duly noted. However, I personally believe although Qwerst would try to intimidate someone to reveal confidential information, I don't think a Judge would sign off on a warrant for them to obtain said information, especially from something so small in nature as a post on a message board. After all, just about anything posted here is either public or common knowledge ,or expressed as personal opinions. Nobody here is buying full page ad's in the daily newspaper or broadcasting on public airwaves. There really is no malicious intent, Den does a good job of weeding that out, and calling Ed a jackass is not really defamation or slander...Overall I think a case could be made to show this board 's objective is to improve Qwerst and make Qwerst a BETTER place to work, not to bring them down or push them out of business. I may be old, but If I remember right, that was the original intention of this board... telling it like it is, or should be!

With that in mind, I do respect your choice weather to make a new username or not, or post or not, or rejoin or not, but creating a new username might just keep security from wanting to snoop around your desk, or truck...
Oh, and I DO like the idea of referring to everything in code, or prose, or obscure reference... kinda make it that much more FUN!!!
