Chrissy....
I think a lot of it is just plain ignorance.....Most techs don't even have a clue that how they code tickets has any affect on you guys. I'll bet it seems that they do it on purpose sometimes, but that is really not the case. They never stop to think at all when they code off a job what they are doing. We go through the same crap outside. Just the other day I sent a job to cable repair and the cable repair tech said it was a bad kick and that there were spair pairs. Just for the record....the pair he cut to lasted 2 days.....but it still goes down as a "bad kick". If you can tell me what codes work against you, I will just stop using them all together. I would assume 0910, 0752,0600 But I am sure that there are more.....let us know!

How about when you file a grievence and the union rep dont think a FWW is needs his attention and dont send it in . It has happened to me now 4 times! So What do you do when you dont have the representation that SHOULD be provided to you?

I'm a Construction tech that routinely goes to help out in I&M. I've never heard the term "unproductive dispatch" as it relates to a trouble ticket. After reading PPM's response to Chrissy, it makes a little more sense to me. I agree with PPM that alot of tech's probably don't know that certain codes affect the screeners. As with QJD, there are obviously things that are out of their control. Obviously an intermittent fault is not going to be the screeners fault if it's happening when the customer calls in, but when the tech gets out there, it's working fine. However, it'll be held against them. All it takes is a little common sense. It's too bad the company can't figure that out.

Well that all makes sense that the techs don't realize that we are getting a ding on those codes, and here I was thinking they didn't like us very much!  LOL. Anyway, I will find some of the codes when I get to work on Friday or Saturday.  I am busy making turkey for the family visit tomorrow.  And yes, I wish I could be off on Friday to watch the football game on tv, but the only way I could do that is to try to make that instant 12:01pm call for priority time on Thanksgiving day before anyone else does, or I won't get my holiday pay!!
Happy turkey day to you all.  Well most of you all...ha.

good luck....... if you refuse representation then in most courts you won't have a case because the representation was available and you declined it....

if you decline represenation and sign off with the union that you declined representation or tell the steward or  union offical to go f themselves then
the union has attempted the fulfilled their  duty fair of representation.

only after a grievance has been filed and reached  final resolution are represented employees able to use an outside attorney and sue because the avenues for settling the agrieved spelled out in the contract have not benn fully exhausted.......

being part of a bargaining for unit  does have drawbacks....

keep in mind union reps aren't lawyers or scholars

learn how to get the QJD numbers scrubbed......

if your steaward's refuse to help get him or her replaced, if local elected officers refuse to help get them out of office.....

if there is a steaward sayiong FWW isn't any issue and refusing to grieve and investigate it ....... you best be calling district 7  and talking to Reed.......

that steaward just put you local's treasury at risk....

Oh, by the way,,,,if the these are the correct codes, fine, but if the customer was quoted TIC, then charge them TIC and don't mark the ticket non-productive..
Thanks in advance for being thoughtful on this....

if your getting a lack of results from the union and or poor representation you can also file with the eeoc against the company and the union this seems to get things rolling and people start to be serious not just at contract time
