Yes, you can hide your info, but basically when you join you create your own site with your own page and stuff... you just have the board as one of your groups... you can make a ll your info as private as you want...  i created the new board with  the  name Joe Pinacchio and used the email of [email protected]...  kinda rub there noses in it a little hehehe...
I advocate creating a fake email account and then signing up etc, because it puts another layer of anonyminity for you...  they would be hard pressed to just determine who a poster was just by reading a post and if they did get multiply to give up userrnames etc, there would be nothing there... they would really have to go out of their way to get a court order and i dont thinka judge would give them one for some one's opinions posted  on a message  board...  there's nothing really being posted here that could be construed as criminal activity so about the only thing they could do is try to  get you on code of conduct etc, and they couldnt get a court order for that to present to multiply  or any other website.. i will post some info from the multiply faq's ina little while, but you can check them out completely before you join if you like,,,
