Two years after the last adventure Peter had forgotten about the book he had written and he found it in the back of one of his drawers. It was all about the adventures they had had. He had written it quite some time ago. He had drawn pictures too. He missed Lucy very much and wondered how she was and whether she too remembered the Adventures. What Peter didn't know was, Lucy had made a book too and had also drawn pictures like him. She missed him so much too.They both remembered the exciting, sometimes frightening times they had together. The times of laughter and tears,Peter remembered the parties and the feasts he missed the food and being out in the fields helping look after the sheep and listening to the stories the shepherds told.Lucy missed being with the women and the children. She liked helping with the cooking she learnt so much and enjoyed playing games with the little ones.
They both looked out of the window at the gate. The day seemed a very strange one with Memories of the book flooding back and pictures of all that had happened.As they sat there they found themselves drawn to the gate.It was as though someone was calling them." Come ! Come! and see. Out into their different yards they both went and stood before the gate.They had stood often and looked longingly at the gate, but today they could not resist opening it and stepping outside. The gate slammed behind them just as before. With great excitement they both opened their gates and jumped about in excitement as they found themselves on the platform.They hugged each other and danced about it was so good to see each other again they were laughing and dancing round hugging each other only stopping for a momment when the book appeared. They held hands and was just going to jump and the book turned round before them round and round, they wondered if it would ever stop and holding hands they stood and watched it like many times before. As it stopped and opened up before them the pages began to turn over. Words danced and moved around as the pages were turned. Pictures moved into place and everything was in order just as it should be. The voice said "wait!" and they stood and watched so excited they wanted to leap as each page was turned, but it didnt stop turning until it reached the page it wanted and then it stopped. The voice said" come!come" step into the book" and without hesitation and holding hands they jumped.It was so good to see each other and be back in the book. It also meant another adventure.They landed behind a rock just as they did when they were first in the book, but this time not on top of one another and like before not knowing what they would see they peeped out from it and as they looked out it wasn't the same peaceful place they had left.They left after Joseph died. There was a new King in Egypt and he didn't know about what Joseph had done.He was so frightened of the Israelite people he had made slaves of them. "He has them working in the fields and building work" said Peter.He is even Killing the baby boys, but they are hiding them and not telling the soldiers about them."I don't like it here" said Lucy "It is not a nice place".Peter hugged Lucy and she felt a lot better."Peter "said Lucy "I have just seen a little baby being born hes being hidden in a drawer. I hope the soldiers don't find him. If they do they will kill him. Pharoh has made an order that all the Israelite boys were to be killed. His mother has kept him hidden for quite some time now. He's three months old and it is so difficult to keep him hidden from the soldiers. Oh Peter his mum is so frightened they will find him." said Lucy.
"She is making a basket big enough to fit him in I wonder where she is going to put it. She is kissing him and hugging him and putting him in the basket. Look Peter."said Lucy" it is floating on the river hidden in the bullrushes and his big sister is keeping watch. I hope he doesnt cry Pharoh's daughter is coming to bathe at the river.Oh Peter he is crying and look Pharoh's daughter has seen him she is taking him out of the water. She is holding him and rocking him she likes him Peter. He's not crying anymore.Pharoh's daughter is going to keep him as her own. Look his sister is running towards her shes telling Pharoh's daughter that she knows someone who will look after him and Pharoh's daughter said yes. She's gone for their mother and she's bringing her back with her. Pharoh's daughter is letting her look after him.He's getting to stay with his mother and he's safe and sound. Moses began to grow stronger and stronger and his Mother was no longer needed to look after him.He was taken to Pharohs daughter and he became her son, "She called him Moses, Because she found him in the water and took him out" said Peter. Moses grew stronger and stronger, Peter went with Moses, He knew who his people were and would watch them work and work and work.
Peter came running to Lucy, "Moses is in trouble" he said "Why" said Lucy. "We were out watching the people working and there was one of the Hebrews being badly beaten and Moses killed the
Egyptian that had done it and he looked around and saw noone and he has hidden the body in the sand,He thought noone knew until today when two Hebrew slaves were fighting and he asked them the reason and one of them asked him if he was going to kill one of them just like he killed the Egyptian. Moses is so frightened if they know a lot of others will know" said Peter. "Pharoh has found out and he wants to kill him,You will have to get ready Lucy We are going with Moses he's going to Midian he will be safe there."Peter and Lucy set off on the journey to Midian with Moses. A priest lived there with his seven daughter's and as Peter and Lucy sat by a well with Moses the daughter's came to water their flocks.How happy they were to see him because everytime they came to the well the shepherd's would run their flocks off and it would be late before they watered them and arrived home. Lucy didn't like the shepherds they coud have helped the Priest's daughters, "Moses soon ran them off "said Peter, "He's helping them water the flocks". He is so kind not like the other shepherds " said Lucy. They arrived home early that night and their Father was so surprised to see them. They talked all at once telling him how the shepherd's tried to run their flocks off and how an Egyptian had helped them and watered the flocks and thats why they were early."Where is he" said Reuel their Father. "Why did you not ask him to come and eat with us. Go and see if he is still there and ask him." Moses was happy he had a place to stay.He stayed for quite a long while. He even married one of his daughter's . She was called Zipporah and he had a son. Peter enjoyed helping to look after the flocks again and Lucy helped look after their son Gershom.
Peter and Lucy heard the news the King of Egypt had died. The Hebrews still were slaves to the Egyptians, Lucy said Peter said " they will not be slaves for much longer for God has remembered his promise the covenant he made with Abraham and Jacob and he always keeps his word. Yes said Lucy he has always kept his promises.
We will find out how ?
