"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11 (KJV)
I don't think there is a more promising and hopeful declaration in all of the Bible than this! Hallelujah! In the darkness and depth of desperation He came - "with healing in His wings" (ref. Malachi 4:2)
In my opinion, the trouble with Christmas has always been in the gifts we give and the gifts we receive. They're nice to have and a great deal of thought goes in many gift selections at Christmas - but they make us more independent; more self reliant. Think about it - men and women in third world countries that are of the Christian faith - seek God for their sustenance: for every breath! We tend to rely on our money and our financial resolve to "make life happen"!
Oh the Joy to know that Jesus is all in all!
This next week we're going to be talking about 5 steps to making the New Year 2007 work for you. Make sure that you join with us each and every morning right here In The Garden.
For now, Osella and I and our extended family would like to wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We sincerely love each one of you and thank God for you.
God bless you.
