Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa-Marie February 1968
I’ll have a blue Christmas Without you I’ll be so blue Just thinking about you
Decorations of red On a green Christmas Tree Won’t be the same Dear, If you’re not here with me
And when those blue Snowflakes start falling That’s when those blue Memories start calling
You’ll be doin?all right, With your Christmas of white But I’ll have a blue, Blue blue blue Christmas
(instrumental break)
You’ll be doin?all right, With your Christmas of white But I’ll have a blue, Blue blue blue Christmas
Originally recorded in 1950 by Ernest Tubb, Elvis Presley recorded ~Blue Christmas~ in 1957 for his Elvis' Christmas Album. It wasn't released as a single until 1964, when it was backed with "Wooden Heart" from Elvis' soundtrack to his film G.I. Blues, but from 1965 and on, it was backed with "Santa Claus Is Back In Town." Elvis' first public performance of this was during his 1968 television special, (Singer Presents) 'Elvis'.
