This Is What The Lord Will Do

The Scriptures make it plain and clear that - there are many plans in a man's heart, but it's the Lord's purposes that prevail(Proverbs 19:21)... there is no wisdom, insight, or plan of man's that can succeed against Him(Proverbs 21:30)...all that He says will come to pass(Isaiah 46:11)...His plans will stand(Isaiah 46:10)...He will do whatever He pleases to do(Isaiah 46:10)...even though the heathen devise their strategy, it will be thwarted...they may propose their plan, but it will not stand(Isaiah 8:10).
Look around you at human wisdom today. Is it not "blinded by self-conceit"..."wedded to its own prejudices"..."presumptuous in its attempts"... "proud in its assumptions"...and "unsatisfactory in its conclusions" as The Biblical Illustrator - New Testament points out?
Man - the worldly wise man, that is - thinks that he can "win one over" on God. He really thinks that He can outwit the Almighty. In his mad blindness, he thinks that He can fight God and win.
For those whose hearts and minds have been enlightened to the true character of this Supreme Being, all we can say is - "What a fool this so-called scholar is! He doesn't realize Who he is up against - the Creator God Who takes great pleasure in frustrating the intelligence of the intelligent!"
Let them fight - but they will not prevail! Our God reigns!
Read what the Lord God Almighty has planned for his opposers -
1. He Will Destroy The Wisdom Of The Worldly Wise Man
1 Corinthians 1:19 says - "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise..."
God Almighty will abolish the professed wisdom of the philosophers of this day. He will lay aside their wisdom and understanding...totally reject, hide, or prove it to be sheer folly...confound or overwhelm those who boast of their great knowledge...cause those on whom the people rely or confide in to appear to be bereft of the needed wisdom to meet and remove the threatening catastrophes...demonstrate that He is not dependent on the wisdom of man...and confound, baffle, and outshine all of the valued learning of this world.
2. He Will Show The Understanding Of The Understanding Ones To Be Of No Value
1 Corinthians 1:19 says - "For it is written, I will...bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
The wisdom of this world is that which excludes God and exalts man. It stresses human self-sufficiency - making man a god in himself.
God will overthrow the arguments and reasonings of all those professing great intelligence. He will confound them in their wise conceits. He will show their worldly wisdom to be of absolutely no value.
3. He Will Foil The Plans Of The Heathen
Psalm 33:10 says - "The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought..."
In His Providence, God over-rules the thoughts, wills, and actions of the heathen. He disappoints and frustrates their evil designs and plots so that they end in nothing. He then carries forward His own designs and purposes.
4. He Will Overrule All Evil
Psalm 33:10 says - "...He maketh the devices of the people of none effect."
Whatever is opposed to His plan or does not promote His glory, he will render futile, vain, unsuccessful, or ineffectual. It will not produce its intended result. Every diabolical craft will be outwitted by His Divine Wisdom.
The Lord God is omniscient. Hence, he knows all of the hidden evil designs and plots of men.
He is also omnipotent. Therefore, He is well able to confound and counteract them in all of their measures.
"No one, regardless of how shrewd or well-advised he is, can stand against the Lord."
Do the worldly-wise really think that they can fight God and win?
How stupid can you be!
