Christ Centered
Devotion or 11/04/2008
Let's Live A Life Of Praise Unto The Lord
Psa 107:32  Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
Quoted
Prov 29:1  He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
Today's Verses - KJV
Prov 1:23-33  Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
My Comments
May I ask you to read and reread the above verses till they speak to your heart? Beloved, these verses are just as much a part of the Word of God as John 3:16 or any other verses. Some believe they can come to the Lord any time they choose and He will hear them no matter what they are doing or have done. I have talked to some who tell me they are not going to miss heaven but they will wait till another time to repent even though they are under conviction for their sin! Some have died soon after, whether they repented and received Christ I don't know! None of us have any promise of another day. If we know of something in our life that is not right with the Lord, let's get it right today! Don't try to blame someone else or justify it, just admit it and repent asking the Lord for victory over that thing! The Lord never cuts one off without first reproving them often. If there is sin in your life you know it, don't fool yourself! God loves us but if we make it clear we don't desire to get sin out of our life He will sooner or later cut us off and let us live with the results of it. If we will hear his reproof and repent He promises to pour out His Spirit unto us! He promises to make known His Word to us! Praise the Lord forever! But there is another promise as well, if we will not; He will laugh at our calamity, He will mock our fear, He will not hear our prayers! Why, because we hated to hear His reproof and despised His counsel! God called those who do this fools! They are reaping what they have sown! They may prosper financially but even that will destroy them! Those who have listened and turned from their sin will dwell safely and shall be quiet from the fear of evil! The choice is ours, let's choose to be doers of all the Word of God. Meditate on it!
Prayer
Father God, thank You for warning us what will happen if we don't repent and allow Your Spirit to work in and through us. Give us grace to walk in all we are in Jesus Christ. May His righteousness be our righteousness, His holiness be our holiness, His life be our life. May the fruit of our life demonstrate that this is so. We ask, believe we receive, and give thanks in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
