Christ Centered Devotion for 11/08/2008 Let's Live A Life Of Praise Unto the Lord Psa 51:15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise. Quote
Psa 119:11-12 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
Today's Verses - KJV Prov 3:1-4 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
My Comments As we read or hear the Word of God; how do we see His commandments? Do we see them as putting a damper on our life style, restricting us in what we do and say? Do we see them as being too legalistic to live by? Beloved, we should see them as the above verses say! Becoming a doer of His Word will cause us to not sin against the Lord! It will add length of days, long life, and peace to us! People all over the world desire this and spend much money to obtain it; when the Lord offers it for free! We are not to just read the Word of God but to also hold it fast so it will not depart from us. We are to bind them about our neck and write them in our heart. God will do this by His Spirit within us, when we desire it with our whole heart! When this becomes our lifestyle we will find good favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man! Praise the Lord forever! Beloved, why would anyone, in their right mind, resent having that in their life? Meditate on it! Prayer
Father God, Thank You for Your Word. Not only the printed Word but the living Word, Jesus Christ. May Your Word be alive in us motivating us in all we do and say. We ask, believe we receive, and give thanks in Your Name, Lord Jesus. Amen.
