"And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea . . . " Mark 6:48
"Our Beacon"
The disciples of Jesus experienced the joy of being rescued. They had been struggling as they rowed their boat against wind and waves in the darkness of night on the sea of Galilee. But Jesus saw them toiling in rowing.
Those men were in the boat that night and they were mingling their sweat with the waves whose salt water was breaking over their little boat. They were straining at the oars and they actually thought they were going down. But Jesus saw them toiling and rowing. He entered the boat and calmed the sea.
Some people today may be in a hard spot right now. Some may be toiling in their rowing endeavors. Some may be facing temptations or problems too great to bear. Some are finding themselves out on this raging sea as the disciples did. However, all can find comfort in knowing Jesus knows it ~ He sees YOU! No one else may know how truly terrified you are ~ no one, that is, except Jesus!
