I heard the roar of thunder claps
Reverberate loudly in my ear
As God spoke to me of judgement,
And my eyes welled up with tears.
My mind bowed low to Jesus,
My heart did genuflect,
I surrendered my self to mighty God,
My life a total wreck.
His look of satisfaction
Rolled the weight of hell away;
His welcoming opened arms
Drew me close that very day.
I heard His still gentle voice
Whisper peace into my bleeding heart;
It made the dreaded terror flee,
And the gloom of death depart.
We now walk hand in hand,
My precious Lord and I,
He sees me through each trial,
And guides me with his eye.
My gaze is fixed on heaven
And His majestic throne;
I see my self there with Him,
As eternity rolls on.

Life's a book written through,
Where the pages are the years.
There's good, evil, false, and true,
With laughter, sweat, and tears.
Our days are songs composed by God,
As we set them to music with pleasure.
His cup of life is for us to drink,
Though, He, decides the measure.
Hurried and worried, dawn till dusk,
There's no time for a curtain call.
We burn our candles from both ends,
And we 're lucky to be alive at all.
Cards are shuffled and hands are dealt,
For all to place their bets.
Youthful blunders, adulthood struggles,
And old age, with its regrets.
It matters not, how long we live,
But more, how well we play our part.
For the road to heaven is always near,
As long as there's truth in our heart.

Gods Encouragement in Tough Times
READ | Judges 7:8-26
Yesterday, we read about how God shrunk Gideonâ?Ts army down from 32,000 men to just 300, immediately before an important battle. Today, letâ?Ts see what happened next. Gideon was undoubtedly feeling anxious. He was about to attack an enemy camp of more than 130,000 trained soldiers, and he was going to do it with just a handful of men. In this terrifying moment, God gave Gideon what he needed most: encouragement.
God woke Gideon at night and strategically positioned him to overhear an enemy soldier recounting a frightful dreamâ?"a vision of Israelite victory! This unlikely circumstance assured Gideon that the Lord was at work in his daunting situation. God graciously used that incident to demonstrate His sensitivity to one manâ?Ts faintheartedness. And He still does so today.
Consider the power of a friendâ?Ts encouraging words. Think about how meaningful it is when an unexpected blessing seems to fall from heaven right at your darkest moment. These are not â?ohappy accidentsâ?; rather, they are precious confidence builders from God.
Our challenge is simply to remember times in the past when our loving heavenly Father has encouraged us. Standing on the evidence of His faithfulness, we can boldly face the future, knowing that weâ?Tre not alone.
As inhabitants of a fallen world, we will at times face heartache, intimidation, and seemingly insurmountable obstacles. But as children of God, saved and secure in Christ Jesus, we are never beyond reach of the Lordâ?Ts encouragement.
