Wishing a Happy “Fathers Day?to all,
AS I was sitting in church today; my three year old “Gabriel
Paul?was sitting on my lap curled up on my shoulder I began to
realize hope both blessed I was and how inadequate I was for the
task the Lord has given me. The Bibles says I am to be a
reflection of our heavenly father. Realizing that Gabriel looks
to me as I look to our heavenly father; it is an awesome task we
fathers have been given. I am to show God’s love by showing him
my love, and as we try to imitate God he will imitate us.
As my mind began to wander I was reminded of him working beside
me building our moss-rock retaining wall. He would carry the
biggest rocks he could to place in the wall with a personal
pride that made me envious. And as I was weeding the garden, he
would be in the dirt a few feet away doing his weeding. Then I
was reminded that as I got made and kicked the dog out of my
way, he would do the same things. Where is my example at times
like these?
God has given us enough grace that we don’t have to be perfect,
just try. We should be like a child and look to God with loving
eyes, not analyzing every item we encounter. If we do enough
good a child will forget the times we error and only remember
our love.
