When the Opposition Gets Tough
It's interesting to note that throughout the book of Acts when the word of God went into new territories there was always opposition. When the gospel first came to Samaria in Acts 8, Philip met up with Simon the sorcerer. When the gospel first came to the Island of Cyprus in Acts 13, Paul came face to face with Elymus the sorcerer. In Acts 16, when the gospel first came to Europe Paul and his party was confronted with a demon possessed girl.
The bible tells us that the Devil is the god of this world. Thus, when we step out in faith to take back what is rightfully Gods, understand, you are treading on Satan's usurped territory and he doesn't like it. Whenever God's people say, "Let us arise and share the gospel!" Satan and his demons say, "Let us arise and oppose the gospel!" The moment you make a decision in your heart to serve the Lord tenaciously wherever He has planted you, then understand your going to come up against opposition. And the temptation will be this, "don't be so fanatical. Take it easy. Give it a rest!" However, we must realize as Christians that when the opposition gets tough, we get tougher.
Christian, don't cave in to Satan's opposition, rather, dig in to God's precious word and cultivate and stick-to-itiveness through personal devotion and prayer.
