Hey There,
I know I haven't been on in forever. It's non-stop around here as always. lol My dad got here about three weeks ago. So, we've all been settling into a new household dynamic. So far so good. : ) It's been wonderful having him here.
I have been having stomach/gallbladder issues since the end of June. It had gotten so bad that the only thing I could keep down was applesauce. I had lost 50 lbs due to not being able to eat, my joints were suffering and I was just flat out exhausted. I went to the E.R. (No insurance) to get looked at about a week and half ago. The er dr. said that all my symptoms sounded like gallbladder but on the wrong side of my body. (gallbladder is on the right side but all of my symptoms manifested on the left side). They did a C.T. scan to see what was going on and found that it was my gallbladder. I think the dr.'s exact words were that it was a mess and he was surprised that I wasn't in constant pain with the state that my gallbladder was in. The surgeon said it needed to come out immediately but that they probably couldn't get me into surgery for a few days. So, he went ahead a sent me home and told me to call back the next morning to schedule surgery. Which ended up being a mess with us not having insurance they wanted $5000 just to put my name on the list. So the dr. told me just to go back into the er. and they would get me in. So, my dad and I went back down to the er. One of the nurses and the er dr. that had seen me the day before recognized me and immediately started the ball rolling. They got me on the list for surgery and put me in line for a room in the surgical department before the triage nurses had even talked to me. I was the talk of both the er and surgical departments last week. lol Anyway, I was admitted on Monday night and they did surgery on Wednesday night. The surgeon said the surgery would only take 45 minutes to an hour but it ended up taking over 3 hours due to how bad my gallbladder was. They said that my gallbladder almost 3 times the normal size due to inflamation and that my biggest gallstone was bigger than a fifty cent piece. I got to come home on Thursday and have just been taking it easy. My husband and my dad have been wonderful through everything. Oh, my mom found out when my brother let it slip that my dad was here and now she's not talking to me.
This week my darling husband has been on vacation. Tuesday Drew II came home sick from school but got to go back yesterday. I think that's pretty much everything. I'll try to be around more now that things are calming down.
