2008 has started with all the busyness that a new year brings. We trust that you are doing well and pray that this New Year will be a blessed year in which we will trust God every step of the way. The first set of notes for this New Year are attached. Just scroll down and enjoy. They focus on the subject ‘TRUST GOD!? It is our prayer that they will be an encouragement to you in your walk of faith and trust.
Life is full of uncertainties and trusting God is what we need to do. God is the one sure thing in life and that is why we can and should place our trust in Him.
Thanks again for all the support during 2007 and we looking forward to 2008 as together we trust God in every dimension.
May God richly bless you.
Much love,
Andrew & Vanessa Roebert

TRUST GOD
1. IT IS TIME TO START TRUSTING GOD ALL OVER AGAIN!
We seem to go through stages in our lives. Stages during which we trust God and then stages when we revert to trusting in ourselves, our ability, our strength, our wisdom, our resources and our opinion and understanding. God wants us to trust Him. I have discovered that I can either do this by my own choice or I can do it when I am forced to do so, usually through circumstances. Inevitably God uses our situations and circumstances to bring us back to a place of trust. The secret is to develop this ‘lifestyle of trust?as an on-going way of life so that when circumstances demand trust, it comes naturally. I think this is what Job experienced. He had learned to trust God and when the tests and the storms came, he just continued doing what he was already doing and God brought him through the worst of times. There is so much going on that we need to focus and place our trust in God once again.
2. START ASKING GOD ALL OVER AGAIN!
Often we just go into survival mode and we stop trusting God and in the process we stop asking God. Perhaps you have given up on God! It is time to start trusting God anew and to start to bring our requests before Him. As you plan and make your goals for the future, begin to ask God and trust Him to come through for you.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
James 4:2 You do not have, because you do not ask.
3. DO THE POSSIBLE AND LEAVE THE IMPOSSIBLE TO GOD.
Does this mean that we can just sit back and do nothing? The answer to this is no! We must do the possible and leave the impossible to God. He is the God of the impossible! I have discovered that trusting God is a two-step process. It involves doing what is possible, or what is in your power to do and then leaving the rest to Him. When we try and do the impossible it often destroys us. This is where our faith and our trust comes in!
4. EXPECT THE SUPERNATURAL!
Expect to be surprised by God. Expect answers from God. Believe that God has got good things in store for you, no matter what things may look like around you. BELIEVE that nothing is in fact too difficult for God. That situation that just never seems to resolve itself, those circumstances that just never seem to change, are not beyond the reach of God. Expect open doors! Expect the unexpected! Trust God and set an example for your children in the process.
Psalm 22:4-5 In You our fathers put their trust; they trusted and You delivered them. They cried to You and were saved; in You they trusted and were not disappointed (ashamed).
God may not come through for us in the way we may have hoped He would or thought he should, but He will always come through for us!
5. WE HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO TRUST GOD
When it comes to trusting God we really have no alternative. We were designed to trust God. Much of life is placed beyond our control and from the moment of our birth we have no option but to trust God!
Psalm 22:9-10 Yet You brought me out of the womb; You made me trust in you even at my mother’s breast. From birth I was cast upon You (I was thrust upon You at my birth); from my mother’s womb You have been my God.
From the moment of birth our ‘life-support?system was removed, and from that moment we had to trust. When we rely on others we will be disappointed. When we rely on ourselves, we will let ourselves down. When we trust in things (finances, education) we have no guarantees. When we trust God we have the best solution.
6. IF YOU ARE FEELING WEAK - IT'S OKAY!
If you feel weak, let it be an opportunity to trust God. What does it mean to be weak?
A. You feel physically incapable.
B. You feel exhausted.
C. You feel feeble and the future seems daunting.
D. You feel discouraged, despairing, depressed or hopeless.
E. You feel like you are going around the same mountain again.
In this condition you can begin to trust God!
2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.?BR>Joel 3:10 Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.?BR>
7. YOU CAN TRUST IN GOD!
You and I have been given the ability to trust God. It is something that God has placed inside of us. It is a resident ability to trust God.
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Faith is primarily our ability to trust God. God has placed within you the ability to trust Him and believe Him in every situation and circumstance.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.
Let’s determine to trust God again and like never before. Put these words in front of you TRUST GOD! Believe it, exercise it and STAND on the SURE FOUNDATION.
Isaiah 28:16 So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed. Trust in your SOLID ROCK!
Psalm 18:31-34 For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength; He has made my way safe. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, leading me safely along the mountain heights. He prepares me for battle; He strengthens me to draw a bow of bronze.
Let’s place our trust and confidence in Him, right now, today and for each day ahead of us!
