I wake up every morning
and start my day with prayer.
Before I'm through yawning
Jesus Christ is there,
To love me and to hold me,
lets me know it's care.
When my day is over,
I bow my head and pray.
Brings Jesus a little closer,
In my heart He'll stay
to guide me even further
towards heaven every day
Before I lay my head down
and before I fall asleep.
I put on my night gown
don't dare to make a peep.
Mama's in the next room
and Papa's gone to sleep.
I say a little prayer
my soul the Lord to keep.
