How These Biblical Principles Work

Hi Everyone, You're receiving this email because you've signed up for them on one of my two web sites, either Free from Panic or Free from Depression.

Today I want to explain how these simple Biblical principles work in your life. This is not a new word, there's nothing here that you've never heard about. But this is a NOW word. Many of these principles you might already do as a person living as a Christian.

The difference is the way you do them. How you look at them and even how you apply them to your life. As Christians we all read the Bible, pray, praise and worship God, and live good clean lives. These are all things we'll talk about.

The difference is how you use them to create a closer relationship with God and "positioning" yourself so that you can receive what God has for you in your life!!

First let me say that I believe that all good things including healing can only come from God. Just doing these principles will not heal you. It is the use of these principles, applied daily, that brings us into a closer understanding of what God has for us in our lives!!

11. For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
Jeremiah 29:11 (Amplified Bible)

For today I'd like to list just 5 of the principles that we'll be looking at. As we go on you'll find that we'll continue to look at the same principles again and again. The difference will be in the way we approach them and from the perspective we have towards them when we add our "issues" like depression, panic disorder, fear, anger, abuse, and all other related issues to the mix.

1. The Word of God.
Of course we all read our Bibles. We might memorize Scriptures and are well versed in the Word of God. But there are key Scriptures that when studied in detail will bring us into a closer relationship with God. And that closer relationship pulls us into position for healing.

The Word of God is like a perscription from the doctor. The perscription will make you better. But it's just a piece of paper until we go to the pharmacy, get it filled, and take the "medicine".

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalm 119:11 (King James Version)

2. Prayer and Meditation
As Christians we all spend time in prayer. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone share with me, wondering if they are praying correctly or that they don't "feel" anything when they pray. When we look into prayer and meditation closely we'll find that there are many different aspects to this principle as well. Having panic and/or depression can affect our thoughts in such a way that we may even doubt that God is listening to us at all.

Just as an example. There have been many times that I've tried to pray but cannot keep my thoughts on what I'm trying to share with God. This brings us to our next principle....

3. What We Think
What goes on in our mind is very important to our Spiritual life. The Word tells us that we are to "renew our minds" (Ephesians 4:23, Romans 12:2)

4. Praise and Worship
The Word declares that "God inhabits(dwells or lives in) the praises of His people(Psalm 22:3 KJV). We only need to take a quick look at the book of Psalms to see how important praise and worship is in our Christian life. I would go so far as to say that a Christian can never really enter into the fulness of what God has for them until they begin a real and powerful praise and worship time with the Lord.

5. Casting Your Cares
Oh sweeties I can't tell you how important this principle is to our lives!! Especially if we've been abused or hurt in our past or if we're carrying around the heavy load of burdens, troubles, trials, and tests. The Word declares to "casting all of your cares on Him, for He cares for you"(1 Peter 5:7).

When we finally get to that point in our lives where we can just "give them all to Jesus", oh the release, rest, and PEACE that will come into our lives.

I'll end here for today. But notice the Peace in all capitals? That's another one of the things we'll look at. Peace is just so very important to a troubled life. For me it's like oxygen!! I can't live without the Peace that "passes all understanding"!!

I pray that this email has been a blessing to you. I'd love to hear your feedback, comments, prayer requests, or just share with me in any way you'd like.
