Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Open Rebellion First of all Adonai made Adam and of all His creations not one was found suitable to be equal, to be unified, so Adonai made Eve and she is the mother of all human beings Genesis 2. After they left the garden the began to till the ground and rule over the animals of the earth. One man and one woman coming together and multiplied creating many other men and women in their image. By the time we reread the account of Cain and Abel they had to be fully grown adults. I know there is much controversy around the fact that where did all these other people come from that Cain went to. Personally, not being a Bible scholar, I think they came from Adam and Eve. Why they didn't stay in live with them I do not know I think they just were so many that us they grew up they began to spread out. So when Cain was sent out away from the present of Adonai he had good reason to be afraid. These other people were his brothers and sisters he had just finished murdering one brother it just simply makes sense to me. Cain paid a high price for his actions yet Adonai allowed him to live and go forth, marry and have children. As I was reading through the genealogy of Cain was reading about Lamech I recognized such a spirit of rebellion in him! First of all he took for himself two wives this is the first recorded account of anyone having more than one wife in Scripture. Then he gathers them and very proudly announces that he too has killed a man. Chapter 4:23 says, "and Lamech said unto his two wives: Adah and Zillah, hear my voice, you wives of Lamech, for I have slain a man for hurting me, even a young man for bruising me". 24 goes on to say, "if Cain be avenged sevenfold then Lamech seventy and sevenfold". As I read this I realized this man had no fear of Adonai! He felt Cain had got off easy he knew Adonai had given Cain the right to continue to live even after taking his brother's life, however, Lamech's attitude is much different than Cain's! Cain was punished and he knew it yet he carried on and married them produced offspring. His son's attitude was one of complete rebellion and pride over what he had done. He killed a young man because he had hurt him. As I thought about that and all the Scriptures that talk about how important it is to forgive anyone who does us wrong to us I was so impacted just how important this is! I'm not just preaching to you I'm preaching to myself here! If we are not forgive from our heart of says in Matthew 18: 35 we cannot honestly be called "sons of our Father in heaven! I don't know about you but I want to be a child of the most high living Almighty God. When we harbor unforgiveness in our heart against another person we are in serious danger. That person is made in the very image of the one who created us! Yeshua gave us one command if we are to "listen to Him" and he called His disciples, and that is to "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself" Luke 10:27. It is so easy to hold a little grudge when someone hurts you, yet, Yeshua not only told us what to do but He put it into practice so that we would have no excuse. He never spoke a word when they were pulling out His beard or spitting in His face! When they mocked Him placing a crown of thorns on His head. Instead He cried out, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" Luke 23:24. We can have the attitude of Messiah or we can have the attitude of Lamech. We can have a spirit of rebellion and unforgiveness or we can recognize we have been forgiven much and we can follow in the footsteps of our Savior! We can walk humbly and obediently before our LORD and one day spend eternity with Him. Matthew 5:21-22 should be burned into our hearts, minds and spirits so that we do not forget ever! "You have heard that the ancients were told, anyone who commits murder shall be liable to the court. But I say to you anyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court, and whosoever says to his brother, you fool, shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell"! I know I mentioned this yesterday but I do not want to have anything in me that would hurt or harm my Father are my Savior! I want to walk in love. It was love that conquered sin the way that we can conquer unforgiveness and sin is by walking in love! No matter what the cost for our King is coming back for a pure and spotless bride! He is coming back soon let us walk in love! B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach In His Love, Theresa |
