I was lost and forlorn
Abandoned by all
Searching for something true.
Then I felt a healing touch
I wasn't sure what to do.
"Who are you?"
I asked in a voice so small
Your hand is so kind and strong
I'd forgotten my Jesus,
my Savior my friend
For oh, so very long.
He took my hand
so small and meek
Into his hand of love
He led me to a mountain top
Where we watched
a snow white dove.
And as he spoke
I felt my heart
Surrendering to him
The touch of Jesus
brought me back
For I was on the brim.
Of accepting loss,
living in fear
I knew not what to do
But the touch of Jesus
upon my hand
Brought memories
of all I once knew.
The touch of Jesus
saved my life
From Satan's terrible fate
I was on the brink of hell itself
Filled with self-pity and hate.
He does not lead me
year by year,
Nor even day by day,
But step by step
my path unfolds;
My Lord directs my way.
Tomorrow's plans
I do not know,
I only know this minute;
But he will say,
"This is the way,
By faith now walk ye in it."
But the tender touch of Jesus
Saved me and let me see
That He is the only way
That He's always there for me.
"Something happened
and now I know,
He touched me and
Made me whole."
God Bless you,
My prayers are
with you always.
You know who you are
I kept my promise
