McConnell, Ronald Gordon
McCONNELL _ Ronald Gordon, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2004, in his 73rd year. Lovingly remembered by his daughter, Charmaine, her husband, Rick, and grandchildren Rob, Rachel (Neil) and Rebecca (Steven). Also survived by his sisters Valerie Coseo of Florida, Merle Prest of Chilliwack, Lavona Johnson of Seattle and brother, Bob Gildemeester of Creston. Predeceased by his father, Gordon; mother, Lorrie; sisters, Dolores and Elizabeth; and brother, Gerry (Lorne). Ron was employed for many years by the Richmond School District and retired in 1990 from his position as maintenance supervisor. He taught his family a respect for the natural world through sharing his love of the outdoors and fishing. Ron enjoyed the game of golf with his brothers and friends, liked to paint, loved music and could play the guitar. His favourite pastime was unarguably the game of bridge which he played with great "finesse", attaining life master status quickly and forging many wonderful fri! endships. He had a quick wit and a ready smile and could "kibitz" good naturedly with the best of them. Ron had enormous pride in his three grandchildren and Gramps will be dearly missed as he is an integral part of their lives. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2005, at Sunnyside Hall located at 154th St. and 18th Avenue in South Surrey at 2:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the B.C. Lung Association. Published in the Vancouver Sun and The Province on 1/6/2005. |
