The two poets I've come to think were very special people, were Rumi, (Persian) ) and Kahlil Gibran (Christian Lebanon)

I'd like to explore both of their charts IF I can find them.

Starting with Rumi, a metaphysical poet if ever there was one...
Questions abound about his love relationships......his marriage was one, and the other with a man. I don't know much about it, so I'll be posting as we go along, I only "heard" about it while visiting Rumi's Tomb in Konya Turkey last year.

It was on December 16th, and the place was very crowded while the rest of the tour was relatively uncrowded that time of year.

The reason why it was so crowded that day was it was Rumi's Anniversary of his death.

This gorgeous Aqua minaret  at the Rumi family Mosoleum can be seen here:

Rumi is also known not only as a poet, but as the metaphysical deviner or creator  of the "Whirling Dervishes"

They whirl and go into a trance like state.......one of communion with god

The Whirling Dervishes trace their origin to the 13th century Ottoman Empire. The Dervishes, also known as the Mevlevi Order, are Sufis, a spiritual offshoot of Islam. In 1972, Jelaluddin Loras, Sheikh of the Mevlevi Order of America, brought the religion from Turkey to the United States. On December 17, Whirling Dervishes across the world celebrate the birth of Jelaluddin Mevlana Rumi, a mystic poet, who founded the Mevlevi Order. I am the first photographer allowed to photograph this group

The Mevlevi Order or the Mevleviye are a Sufi order founded by the followers of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, a 13th century Persian (Tādjīk) poet, Islamic jurist, and theologian,

in Konya (in present-day Turkey).

They are also known as the Whirling Dervishes due to their famous practice of whirling as a form of dhikr (remembrance of Allah). Dervish is a common term for an initiate of the Sufi Path.
