These two dreams are replete with "Contrasts"...........like black & white are contrasts, so these two dreams both are giving you many contrasts about life..........
for instance:
Dream #1: Car Park on ground level.....Red van....."regular people" the "Commoners" (so to speak).... drinking beer & ale. However the young guy, showed clearly, what "doesn't mix" together.......
two distinct contrasts.(being the lemonade and the garlic ) about as contrasted as one can describe.
Dream #2: Elevated car park - above ground......."motorised and fancy little vehicle"...."Royals" as opposed to commoners.
fancy vehicle as opposed to red van ......
The "smell" is reminiscent of the common folk.,perhaps, as royalty "almost doesnt' pee or take a leak in public, LOL)
these then are just some of the stark Contrasts between the two.,saying that life has many contrasts then that you are observing.
But in the end.........we are ALL the same, as your mum and the queen "gossip for a long time", is saying that they (the royals), although having a fancier "conveyance" as in station in life; STILL are the same as you & I. They gossip, they simply drive or get around in a fancier digs......i.e. fancier vehicles, housing,etc. but in the end still the same.
Now, the 2nd Dream where you tried to fit in with the "crowd" that too is a pun. Here in America we say "fitting in with the crowd".....maybe they say the same in the UK?
We all do this, as we all want to be liked don't we??........so we attempt to try & fit in, as in the first dream with the Toast (but your toast was slightly different then the others, instead of Cheers, you said, something "foreign" then shows you are distinct from them
Trying to fit in, but still retain your "distinctness" or unique quality of indiviudalization.
This is what souls are! Edgar Cayce says the personality (on earth) is the active principle here in this plane of existence, but Soul itself, he says, has an "Individuality"......in the other realms.
I think using the toast as a different foreign toast is saying then, you want to be seen as getting along with everyone, but still retaining your own individuality as well.
2nd Dream has other puns:
Closing your eyes because they did, is showing you that when you "follow the crowd", you essentially, "lose your balance"....as a soul.
This is a pun then, IMO.
The fact they "Woke up", means, again as a contrast to consider, they "were asleep?".......two opposites then.

You didn't say IF you "knew" that Joe was dead in the dream.
Sometimes we dream of the dead, and recognize them as supposed to be gone, and are happy to see them, but still realize they ARE no longer here!
Now Edgar Cayce says, when we dream of the dead, it is REALLY them.
I use to have what I called as a young woman my Mr.Rosenberg dreams. as he would show up in my dreams to give me messages about my life.(but i knew he was dead)........
This sounds to me like Joe is playing such a role for you.
You see, just as we here in this life, "think" we see others and are part of them, (here), just because they pass over, doesn't mean their energy is not "with us"........when we need them to be they are again, "with us." but in a different way, via the astral realms
So, I'd think that Joe plays a role then, as did the Queen Mum, in your psyche, just as they did in waking /conscious life, so again in the dream state or the astral realms to help your own subconscious mind with the symbols they themselves represented for you in waking life.
GREAT SYMBOLS all around in your dreams....
btw, I heard and saw on TV that London and the surrounding areas? are getting the worse rain in centuries??
