| Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth. | | Commentary The uncertainty of health, circumstances, and life itself point to the truthfulness of this maxim. Nowhere is the urgency of immediate action more crucial than in the matter of one's eternal destiny (Is. 1:18; 2 Cor. 6:2; Heb. 3:7, 8). Of the future even the wisest of men are ignorant, for all time beyond this very moment is known only to God (James 4:13, 14).

![NIV]() | As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. | ![KJV]() | As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. | ![NASB]() | Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things. | |

Children and their Responsibility in the role in the Parents Life: Hear, my son, your father's instruction And do not forsake your mother's teaching; Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head And ornaments about your neck. \ Proverbs 1:8 Commentary
Both the OT and the NT agree that children have only one responsibility in the family-to obey their parents. The admonition of Solomon is more fully explained by Paul in Eph. 6:1-3: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with promise: 'that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.'" "Children" is an inclusive term. It is not a matter of either sex or age that is involved. |
