from the readers of Parade Magazine including Me:

Gov. Bush...
By [email protected] on 1/13/2008 2:56:PM

is what he should be referred to as, because that is the last office he was legally elected to.

Parade Management = Morons!
By [email protected] on 1/7/2008 12:35:PM

How stupid can you be? G Bush one week followed by an un-updated Bhutto the next! Their explanations are BS. I'd fire them all!

Bush the Optimist
By [email protected] on 1/3/2008 8:04:PM

To put the face of Bush on the cover of the PARADE magazine was a bad decision, in fact it was disgusting! To show his smilig face and proclaiming that he is "an optimist" when people are dying by the thousands in Iraq in a war with no end, was insensitive. Bush does not have enough common sense to understand that his optimism will not change an already lost war into a victory or turned around his failed presidency into a success. He lacks the smarts to see it!

W = Worst Ever
By [email protected] on 1/3/2008 4:09:PM

The man will go into history as the absolute Worst President Ever. If he had any shred of decency about him, he would resign the office. IMPEACH!

George W Bush - It's A Wonderful Life
By Bernadette van Nostrand on 1/3/2008 3:40:PM

The best is yet to come. Next January when Bush leave office I'm planning to salute his departure by flushing my toilet three times. All are welcome to join me.

God sent Bush alright
By [email protected] on 1/3/2008 2:56:PM

To Punish the World... homosexuals on Clinton years and corruption greed on both Bushes years.

George W. Bush
By [email protected] on 1/2/2008 5:22:PM

I am glad God sent President Bush to be President on 9/11. He has led us through some turbulent times with God leading him. He is a sincere man that history will show how great he was.

Not classy & not tasteful to have George W on the cover of "PARADE"
By [email protected] on 1/1/2008 6:49:PM

Has your editor been following any of the news since George W. took office? This deceitful, pathetic president has committed war crimes and treason. He's to be impeached; not placed on a cover of a magazine that comes in the Sunday paper to American homes. Do you have any idea how destructive, devastating, deceitful, debt-producing, derisive, deadly and dumb this Iraqi war is? What happened to "PARADE?" Keep it out of my Sunday paper if you highlight criminals like George W.

Bush will be vindicated
By [email protected] on 1/1/2008 12:43:PM

I believe when it's all said and done, history will judge Bush kindly years from now. It may not seem that way now, but I think people will look back at his presidency with such greatness because he has had to deal with so many extraordinary events, good or bad. So for those libs who are trashing him on this forum now, President Bush will have the last laugh!

Most histrionic President ever
By [email protected] on 1/1/2008 11:58:AM

I can't understand how anyone could say a WOMAN president would be too emotional; we have been ruled by one man's foolish emotions for seven years. George W. Bush sent thousands of Americans to their deaths and destabilized an entire nation all because Saddam Hussein once plotted to kill his father. His talents seem to be limited to wheel-spinning (on the ranch and in the White House), protecting himself and those close to him, expressing simple, vague ideas -- and making goofy faces.

a message to Congress
By [email protected] on 1/1/2008 10:44:AM

A clear and simple message to Congress... IMPEACH! this pitiful excuse for a President the American People.

Incurious george and his Very Special Year
By [email protected] on 1/1/2008 9:47:AM

So the smirking commander-in-chimp had a very special year. The shrub continues to exhibit no glimmer of insight into the misery and suffering he's caused for so many, and I fear he never will. He dribbles on about "optimism" and makes every decision based on "instinct" (at least the decisions that aren't made for him by his puppet-masters). Well, optimism and instinct alone aren't sufficient to successfully coach a toad in a hopping race, and we've all reaped the results of allowing this travesty to continue. He counts the minutes until he can put all this behind him; until he can chop wood and drink beer again, leaving his mess for all of us to clean up. One final, "special" year. What else can he screw up? This copy of Parade, and every one in the future, will go straight to the floor of the birdcage where it belongs.

The article was a good public service
By [email protected] on 1/1/2008 1:20:AM

While our country wrestles with incredibly complex problems, the article reminds us of President’s character. As the intro states, his stories give a glimpse into what matters for him. Global warming? Lack of adequate health care? Resurgance of the Afghanistan Taliban? No, instead he talks about five individuals. Well, kudos to him for his honesty that these stories are more vital to him than the huge issues that we expect a President to address. And for those who still support him, this is probably the type of President they wanted—someone who simply reassures them that he is a good guy after all. But I have a question. If he was "inspired" and "deeply touched," how has he behaved differently? Where is evidence that he has been affected by those people he met? Instead, he and his supporters are proud that he is completely unwavering in his policies. Perhaps his inspiration was to veto like never before including SCHIP and other bipartisan legislation. I would have hoped that the President of our country only had to look at the real everyday needs of millions of Americans who suffer from lack of adequate health care, shrinking real wages, etc., and would have been inspired and motivated to push for legislation to help those who need help. But he has never pretended to be that kind of President.

Resign Mr. Bush
By [email protected] on 12/31/2007 10:49:PM

Mr. Bush, do the honorable thing, RESIGN ! You are an insult to the American people.

George W Bush
By [email protected] on 12/31/2007 8:57:PM

When I Saw Bush war criminal on the cover of Parade, I cried, I really cried. I cant believe you put a picture of the devil himself on your magazine. Shame on you!!!! Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abominable Cover of the Monster-in-Chief
By [email protected] on 12/31/2007 4:45:PM

Place a murderer--an actual monster--on your cover. Let him drone on about his "optimism," show complete disregard for your readership . . . do all of these things, and what do you expect you will achieve? Will it buy you a coveted place in the regard of this person's last few months in office? Will it endear Parade to future readers? I felt a visceral and real nausea when I saw whom you had placed on your cover. In return, I have no respect left for Parade and will hereby boycott reading your publication. May many other Americans follow suit.

George Bush gave me a Nighmare and I got sick!
By [email protected] on 12/31/2007 2:18:PM

I've read a few of the other comments, such as "He should have talked about his Accomplishments",and I understand why he did not. What he has accomplished has being responsible for the deaths of thousands and thousands of people, invading a country that was NO threat to us, as not one Iraqi attacked us on 9-11. Running our country into virtual bankruptcy, bringing the dollar to the lowest value ever in the world. But I can see the Smile from ear to ear, as he and his fellow rich friends and family continue to reap thanks to his laws, "Record Profits" from the suffering of others. Sad indeed! The only picture in the future I'd like to see of G.W. Bush, is one behind bars.

Worse Cover
By Wathen on 12/31/2007 2:02:PM

It is easy to be an optimist if you have health insurance and your children have health insurance. Is Bush smiling because he is thinking of all the children that have and will die because spending billions in Iraq is a higher priority than saving the lives of children in the U.S. by providing health insurance? Or is he smirking because of the suffering he has caused by not providing all the help he can on stem cell research? He has destroyed any legacy that his father may have had and he certainly has done nothing that his twins can be proud of. What a sad evil person we have for a "president".

What Made My Year Special
@hotmail.com on 12/31/2007 9:43:AM

Seeing George Bush smiling on the cover of Parade Magazine yesterday and seeing the words "What Made My Year Special" made me physically ill. Does this man have no heart or soul? How can someone who has brought so much death and misery to the innocent civilians of Iraq and Afghanistan sleep at night, let alone smile placidly for the camera? All I can say is "Praise God" that 2008 will be the last year this small, terrible man will be in a position to inflict his evil policies on our nation and the world.

Ongoing
By [email protected] on 12/31/2007 2:23:AM

With every word Bush "writes" and every word he says, the words maintain the obvious that he sees the world in black and white and uses religion as a front for his lack of imagination, intelligence, and reality. I have lived through many presidential era's and even talked with some Presidents. Never have I seen someone who so lacked the capability to be a President. I have been disgusted by Presidents only twice in my life and both have existed in the last 16 years.

Bush is a human rights violator.
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 9:00:PM

As a VN vet, I am critical of you featuring the Bush war criminal on your cover. Keep in mind that he, and Cheney, Rove, and Rice are all folks who have no clue about "service" to their country's military. Rumsfeld did serve, but left when the VN war was heating up. Shame on Parade Magazine! Let's send them all to the World Court.

I still believe in Bush!
By dskobel on 12/30/2007 6:36:PM

I loved the fact that President Bush did not go on and on about himself, but rather chose to highlight others that have inspired him. I believe that George W. Bush is a fine man, with a strong faith. I do not agree with everything that he says or does, but I still respect the fact that he is our President! Those naysayers should be in his shoes for one day. I bet they couldn't make one decision and stick with it, but they would go in whichever direction the wind is blowing. I'm sick of whining people! Did they even vote? I did - for Bush twice! Thank you Parade Magazine for being a great patriot and and a great American. My hat is off to you!

Bushs' "Special Year".
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 6:36:PM

I wish that I had the ability to smile at the camera and give innocuous answers to fluffy questions knowing I was responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths worldwide, environmental disaster on a global scale, and economic hardship for generations to come. Shame on Bush and Cheny for defiling the good name of the United States.

Very disappointing
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 5:29:PM

I was very disappointed with President's Bush's article in today's Parade ("What Made My Year Special"). Considering Mr. Bush's low approval ratings, I thought he would have listed his accomplishments. Instead, he listed the accomplishments of other people, none of whom, it appears, owes their success to anything he has done. I will be so glad when he leaves power and goes back to Texas and can do no further harm to this country.

Too Sick to Read On
By rdm545 on 12/30/2007 4:53:PM

There I was, getting ready to eat my breakfast and read the Sunday paper when all of a sudden, a war criminial's picture flashes before my eyes. I just couldn't believe it -Parade Magazine put George W. Bush on the cover and presented him as a real human being deserving of any positive credability whatsoever, It was like I was holding "Fox News Parade." Well, needless to say, I was too sick to my stomach to eat my breakfast, I did not page through "Fox News Parade" and I definitely will not touch your magazine ever again.

what were you thinking
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 2:32:PM

This man has lead by fear and lies and you ask him anything. He is as deep as a toenail. Our countries greatest assets are our deversity and open heartedness. He represents none of that. Why not ask a mass murderer what made his year special, at least they would have health care and meals. someting this president does not seem to evern know we need. Well when you never have to touch the middle class, nor care to, I guess you can be optimistic. If he really , really cared about us, he would let go of his stubborness (fear) and stop killing us in oh so many ways. Verta Odziana, michigan

Could'nt get Al Gore to do your cover?
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 2:11:PM

At lest then we would have a someone that would give an honest answer. Everyone under Bush's administration is unable to remember anything it appears and are completely incompetent. We need smarter people to do the job of President. Not a corporate profits puppet and not a repeat failure at everything they have done. Really you should have chosen better...Al Gore..yes, you definitely should have chosen better

Dubya
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 12:56:PM

WHEN will Congress come to their senses and bring Bush up on charges of treason? At the very LEAST, he's guilty of High Crimes and Misdemeanors that should get him prison time. There has been no other president in American history that has done more to erode your rights and liberties than this man. In addition, he's made it possible for his partners in crime to become even more wealthy from profits they've made from the war in Iraq. That alone is punishable by prison time.

Jr Bush in Parade Magazine
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 12:14:PM

He is an absolute embarrasment to America. On top of this, he comes on like a Texan which he (nor his father) is definetly not. Both were yankees. To be a Texan, you have to be born here. He will go down as one of the worst presidents in American history. We are all glad that he is quack-quack.

Unreal
By [email protected] on 12/30/2007 11:32:AM

How can anybody still believe this man has done a good job in which is party stole for him? How many deaths does it take to change your opinion? How many soldiers have died because they lied to make Iraq one of the axis of Evils? Americans, the real ones, should demand these people be held accountable for the crimes they have committed and how they have set America back. We are the most hated country on the planet and will require years and years of diplomacy to correct.

Are You Kidding Me?
By [email protected] on 12/29/2007 6:57:PM

His story would be nice if he were running for Miss America, but for President of a country that has serious problems it scares me. This story reminds me of why I didn't vote for this man twice. Bush get your head out of the clouds and start fixing the problems you caused. Time is running short.

That is why....
By [email protected] on 12/29/2007 3:59:PM

Thank you for the story. It reiterates the reason I voted for this man not once but twice.
