Julian Beever is a fantastic artist who specializes in chalk drawings. If you've seen any of his work you know how great he is. If you haven't seen his work before, check out his web site, especially the 3-D Illusion section. I absolutely guarantee that you'll be amazed.

Hi John,
I hope things are going well for you.

Hi Steve:
Tried to answer this Friday night, but it disappeared into the ether on me.
Trust all is going well with you folks.

I've been keeping quite busy. During the election the incumbents were talking about how many meetings they had attended. Everyone agreed it was a lot, but no one knew for sure how many. So, just for fun, I've been keeping track. So far it's 92 meetings/events for me, plus preparation time for the meetings.
On top of that, I was also elected Master of the local Masonic Lodge this year, so that was another 38 evenings.
And, masochist that I am, I also took on a consulting project for a marketing company over the summer.
So much for quiet retirement, but seriously, I'm enjoying it a lot.
Our grandsons were here over the summer and I'm flying out to Victoria for a week early in November to visit them and our daughter Joanna.

Someone posted a couple of Julian Beever's 3-D pics on another MSN site I belong to and I was just blown away, so I googled him and found his site. Imagine the vision he must have to do those on sidewalks and streets with all the people passing by while he works.

Take care,
John

Hi John,
Sounds like you're enjoying yourself, despite the over-activity.
Living in Toronto now, democracy is a fictional system.  Whatever His Blondness wants, he eventually gets.  Especially if he scares a disadvantaged people by threatening to cut their particular service, rather than dealing with his overpaid union buddies.
This city has a terrible spending problem.  They can't keep their hands out of people's pockets.
It's a good thing we have amazing art to look at.  If he came to Toronto they'd try to tax the sidewalk...oh, in fact that's being considered!
Take care, and enjoy your trip out west.  Megann and I are going to Vancouver this week for a conference.  It never rains when we're there.  (See our blog: www.panoptika.wordpress.com)
Cheers,
Steve
