AffairsAstellas Pharma Canada, Inc. is currently searching for an Associate Director Scientific Affairs, Dermatology/Urology/ Cardiology & ID.

Reporting to the Director, Scientific Affairs, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Managing research and development activities in dermatology, urology, cardiology, ID and other assigned therapeutic areas, developing and/or overseeing APCA strategic research plans for relevant therapeutic areas.

Managing project budgets to be on or within planned expenditures in compliance with corporate milestones.

Providing scientific leadership and coordination for clinical development in the assigned areas.

Designing phase II, III, IIIb and IV clinical studies, and assessing clinical trials proposed by investigators, based on scientific validity, clinical importance, fiscal feasibility and congruence with the strategic plan.

The key attributes of the qualified candidate are:

<DIR>

Graduate degree in life sciences Ph.D/MD/M.Sc. required.

Minimum of 7-10 years pharmaceutical industry experience in clinical research , including project management required.

Strong scientific/statistical background required; dermatology, urology, cardiology & ID desirable.

Proven leadership ability required; excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and administrative skills required.

Knowledge of local and international regulations required.

Bilingual (English & French) a plus.
