Clinical Sciences Manager

Astellas Pharma Canada, Inc. is currently searching for a Clinical Sciences Manager. Reporting to Fran Paradiso-Hardy, Associate Director of Scientific Affairs, the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Collaborates with the Associate Director and physician advisors to design Phase IIIb and IV clinical studies, develop clinical study plans, and prepare supporting clinical study.

Liaises between Associate Director and Senior Manager, Clinical Projects to effectively translate strategic scientific objectives into clinical operational objectives.

Ø Analyzes study data and preparing clinical reports, papers and presentations in collaboration with the Associate Director to meet timelines and budgets and Astellas Pharma Canada standards of scientific integrity.

Ø Supports the Associate Director in the assessment of single-centre studies (clinical and nonclinical) proposed by the investigators, based on scientific validity, clinical importance, fiscal feasibility and alignment with the Corporate and Scientific Affairs strategic plans. Supports the Associate Director in the management of single-centre studies including follow-up with physicians, project evaluation, and budget review.

Ø Develops and maintains relevant knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and relevant clinical issues.

The key attributes of the qualified candidate are:

Ph.D, Pharm.D, MD or M.Sc required and a minimum of two years experience in laboratory and/or clinical research and project management specifically in the areas of Immunology, Dermatology, Urology, and other therapeutic areas (as directed) and preferably in the research-based pharmaceutical industry in Canada, required.

Proficiency in scientific research and medical writing skills in the areas of Immunology, Dermatology, Urology, and other therapeutic areas (as directed) supported by a solid track record of authorship in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presentations at scientific meetings, required.

Demonstrated leadership abilities and ability to interact effectively in a cross functional. team environment required.

Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, administrative and computer abilities required.
