Astellas Pharma Canada, Inc. is currently searching for a Director of Sales. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Sales, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Implementing sales policies and procedures to ensure Rx&D Code and Company Policies are followed.

Conducts and approves sales strategies for all therapeutic brands. Involvement in the creation of the National Strategic Marketing Plan. Participates in the annual 5 and 10 year Corporate Strategic Planning Process.

Collaborates with the Vice President in approving sales objectives for all therapeutic brands. Creates realistic administrative budgets and forecasts and achieves targets.

Manages the Customer Relationship Management System.

Acts as business mentor for Sales Managers. Provides leadership, encouragement and support to the entire sales team.

Creates annual Sales Managers and Product Specialists incentive plans.

Collaborates with the marketing group on special projects involving provincial and market access submissions, third party payer initiatives and selection of suppliers.

The key attributes of the qualified candidate are:

Ten years experience in the ethical pharmaceutical industry required. Minimum of eight years experience in Hospital Sales Management and/or Sales Management with a minimum of three years managing managers. Previous experiences in Astellas�?therapeutic areas is preferred. Management in different functional areas such as marketing, training etc. is an asset.

Bachelors degree required, in life sciences preferred.

Full knowledge of Rx&D Code and an ability to provide interpretation for others required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Proven leadership ability is required. People management experience is required.

Excellent computer skills are required; especially word processing, spreadsheets, presentation design software and experience is required.

Bilingual (English & French) an asset.
