Hi everyone
I have a 3 digit counter circuit based on the 4026 IC
It is suffering from spurious false triggering
I have checked that the input is good, the unit digit seems reliable but the carry function is intermitent.
The board has been thoroughly checked for dry joints and anything suspicious has been resoldered
Does anyone have some useful experience to share that might help please
Ed

Hi Ken
4000 series are CMOS
Yes chips were out of holders when soldering
Whole circuit is CMOS running on 9V
I don't think chips have been damaged by handling because fault is intermittant - it sometimes works fine!
Regards
Ed

As a result of visiting electronics groups I have received some very sound advice on my problem (to my e-mail address) and am hopeful that I will have it fixed very soon.
Thanks
Ed
