| Rules and Regulations for Elmshade Members This is a roleplaying site based on Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D) 2nd edition. You don't need to play AD&D to participate here, but it helps if you know the game. If you don't know how to play but would like to learn, ask us and we'll try to help. We do ask that you abide by the following rules and guide-lines: 1. This site is dedicated to roleplaying, and we ask that all posts be related to roleplaying in some way. Political, religious, sexual, or commercial topics are not allowed, and posts containing these will be deleted immediately and without warning. 2. All Out of Character (OOC) comments shall be respectful in nature. Any disagreements or complaints should be done via e-mail. At no time will "flaming" be tolerated on the Message Boards. 3. Please read over Elmshade's Message Boards prior to posting. This will give you an idea on how to post, what is considered appropriate, etc. 4. Excessive profanity will not be tolerated. Posts containing very inappropriate language will be deleted, and the member will be warned. Further action will be taken, if necessary. 5. ALL members must have their e-mail address visible on their profile. Anyone failing to meet this requirement will be notified ONCE by management, and if not promptly corrected, their membership will be terminated. Characters Allowed 1. Races allowed include human, elf, half-elf, dwarf, gnome, halfling, and half-orc. Other races (such as those listed in the Humanoids Handbook) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 2. Evil characters are allowed in The Sparring Arenas, the Ruins and MTs. However, should their actions disturb the peace in other areas of the site in any way, they will be dealt with swiftly and severely. This could include jail time, injury, or even death. 3. Super-powerful characters are not allowed. Any character above 10th level must receive direct approval by the Managers. Any character wielding powerful magical items must be approved by the Managers. Psionic characters and magic-users are allowed; however, their powers will not function while residing in Elmshade (except in the Sparring Arena, Ruins or MTs as allowed by the DM). Rules for Posting 1. Please use appropriate language and grammar at all times. It is extremely helpful to other members if you use proper spelling and sentence structure. 2. If you'd like to DM a game, please e-mail the managers at [email protected] FIRST, telling us your idea for the game and all the rules (character creation, starting items, etc.). We may ask you to make a few changes before starting your game. Once you've been approved, you'll be free to start and recruit players. Please, do not post any Moderated Threads (MT's) or other out of character (OOC) threads to recruit for a game without the managers' permission. 3. Do not post in any Moderated Thread (MT), Narrative Thread (NT), or Closed Thread (CT) unless you have explicit permission from the thread's creator. 4. Do not post actions for any character other than yours. The Managers will take care of any Non-Player Characters (NPC's). 5. If you want to learn how to post using backgrounds, pictures, tables, etc...please contact our resident "posting expert" at [email protected] . He will be glad to assist you.
